The analysis of mental skills and mental training in professional tennis players

Abstract Title: The analysis of mental skills and mental training in professional tennis players Objectives: The purpose of this thesis is to determine and analyze the level of mental skills as well as elucidate which techniques from the field of mental training are used by professional tennis players. Methods: In this thesis, a qualitative type of research was used. A case study of seven professional tennis players was conducted in which the following methods were used: structured interview with open questions, participant observation and document analysis. Results: The final findings of this thesis are that top tennis players have different levels of mental skills. The results have proven that the higher a tennis player ranks, the better results were showed. Accordingly, players who are ranked higher than the 50th place according to the ATP ranking achieved significantly better results. Keywords: Mental skills, mental training

1 TITLE: Specifics of womans ice hockey AUTHOR: Michaela Hrbková DEPARTMENT: Physical Education Department SUPERVISOR: PaedDr. Ladislav Pokorný ABSTRAKT: This master thesis shows specific differences between men's and women's ice hockey. Point out anatomical, physiological, psychological, performance, technical and tactical factors affecting training processes and training units in men's and women's ice hockey. Using a questionnaire among players and coaches, I examined the knowledge of specific gender needs and their placement in the training units, knowledge of competition systems and game plans, differences in rules and men's and women's ice hockey. Furthermore, player and coaching history and hockey coaching education. Using a questionnaire among public, I examined opinions on female players and women's ice hockey, differences in attendance and viewership of men's and women's matches, knowledge of male and female players, teams and international successes of national hockey teams. I compared average age, weight and height of male players in Tipsport Extraliga and female players in women's league. I also compared the amount of training units of men's team HC Verva Litvínov and women's team HC Litvínov in the season 2014/2015. Title of the thesis STRESS SITUATIONS IN TENNIS MATCH The goal of the thesis The aim of the work is to contribute to the understanding of the psyche of a tennis player, especially in the relation to a tennis match in singles. Specifically, I wanted to identify the mental states and factors that can affect the game performance of tennis players and the rate of use of psychological training in tennis. To meet the goal, the following scientific questions were created: To what extent do tennis players use psychological training? Is inspiration, motivation and determination important for the players to maintain the high-quality performance? Can players concentrate or maintain concentration during the match? What thoughts and feelings do players have before beginning the match? How do they react to their current state of mind? How do players in model "particular" situation react to stressful situations in the "key moments" of the match? Method In this work, an anonymous written survey was used to collect data, which consisted of 39 questions. Psychological preparation of cross country skiers

Title: Psychological preparation of cross country skier Aims: The aim of the thesis was to determine an attitude of cross-country skiers towards integrating a psychological preparation into their training proces and assess this approach for man and woman separately Methodology: This thesis was designed as a quantitative research using public inquiry. In order to compile anonymous survey, standardized closed questions were used. The selection of questions was based on multiple consultations with experts in the field of the psychology, methodology and cross-country skiing. The survey was sent to skiers of selected categories together with an introductory explanation. The cross-country skiers were contacted via e-mail or phone and they got detailed explanation of the procedure for completing the survey. The received data were statistically analyzed. Results: 50 athletes from 50 respondents have sent back the completed survey. Based on the results of the public inquiry, we can conclude that the majority of respondents expressed a positive attitude towards including the psychological preparation into their training process. Title: The Influence of actual psychical states on performance in rhythmic gymnastics Objectives: The aim of the study work is to describe the interdependence of actual psychical states and performance in rhythmic gymnastics. Collected data should bring an overview of the positive and negative influences of psyche to gymnast's competitions performance. Methods: The chosen research is qualitative, because the research sample is small. The research is implemented mainly by structured observation, which is accompanied by a simple questionnaire. During the competitions the research observed previously selected categories of actual psychical states, which were evaluated on a range of five degree. Then the performance was evaluated. Results: The results shown the link between all psychical states and performance and they confirmed, that the psyche is an important factor during every competition. The high anxiety was the key factor, which negatively affected the performance. Also the activity of gymnasts in competition and looking forward to the competition influenced the quality of their routines. Mental health development and Psycho-training for players in the 1st division ice hockey teams in Czech Republic.

The bachelor thesis has set out to find out how ice hockey players are mentally prepared to play Czech Extraliga competition. The aim was to determine the condition and how much time and effort is devoted to the psychological preparation and predict improvement. I assumed that conscious and targeted psychological preparation in Czech clubs is not common and does not have its place in the training process. The survey was based on a triangulation metodologic exploration of the questionnaire MK2014. The results were presented using graphs and draw conclusions using the Commandments for improving the mental health of ice hockey players.
